Welcome to Webgame Arcades

Webgame Arcades started from a simple frustration: most "free" games online aren't actually free to get into. They want an app install, an account, a wall of permissions, or a few minutes of loading before you can press a single button. We wanted something different — a site where clicking a link is the entire onboarding process.

Every game here runs directly in the browser. No download, no install, no sign-up. Open a tab, pick a game, and you're playing within a couple of seconds.

Why browser games

Modern browsers are powerful enough to run smooth, responsive games with nothing more than HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. That meant we could build an entire arcade without asking anyone to trust an unfamiliar app with permissions on their phone or computer. It also meant the games had to be lightweight and fast by design — there's no splash screen to hide behind, so they need to feel good the instant they load.

We also wanted the site to work the same way everywhere. Whether you're on a desktop with a keyboard, a laptop with a trackpad, or a phone with only your thumbs, every game adapts. Keyboard and touch controls are built in from day one, not bolted on later.

What's on the site today

The library currently spans three broad styles of play:

New games are added regularly, and we write every one from scratch with performance and accessibility in mind.

What's next

This blog is where we'll post release notes for new games, tips for getting better scores, and the occasional behind-the-scenes note about how a game was built. We're also building out a community space so players can share feedback and suggest what they'd like to see next. Thanks for stopping by — we hope you find something worth a few minutes of your day.
